WHY DO I NEED A WILL?

A question we should all know the answer to, unfortunately less than 50% of the population know the answer. We are here to educate you on WHY a Will can help you and your loved ones in the future.

Through a correctly designed Will, your assets can be protected, your children can be cared for but most importantly your mind can be put at ease knowing that should the worst happen, your loved ones will be looked after.

A Will WILL save your loved one’s unnecessary stress or uncertainty at a time that is fraught with sadness and unknowns; a will enables you to give them the guidance and support they need.

Things to consider when writing your Will

Things to consider when writing your Will

Executors

These are the people you want to administer your Will.

Essentially, these will be the people sorting everything out, tasks range from sorting out the funeral, to figuring out where all your money is. These should be people you trust and does not have to be 1 person, but remember ‘too many chefs spoil the broth’ so try not to nominate an army of people.

Guardianship

This is so important for families with young children.

If guardianship is not stated and both parents die, there is no clear instruction as to who will look after and care for your children. Consider the life you wish for your children and place the responsibility of their upbringing in the hands of someone you trust.

Beneficiaries

These are the people who benefit from your Will; these can be anyone and everyone.

However, it is our job to make sure that what you want to achieve is A. achievable, but B. not going to cause more trouble than it’s worth. In the end, your Will is exactly that….yours; we are simply here to give you advice from our experience of dealing with thousands of families in the past.
